Want to Help?
There are several ways you or your company can help us get these precious and comforting quilts into the hands of the families who so richly deserve them. They have paid so dearly and received so little in return, we really don't want to make them wait any longer than necessary.
The Foundation can use the support of people who can serve as:
Make a Quilt If you are a skilled quilt maker and want to support the Foundation by making one of our memorial quilts, we will provide you with all the materials necessary as well as the pattern. You must be skilled at machine embroidery as well as quilting as much of the work entails extensive embroidery of text. If you want to participate, just email us and let us know. We will work with you to get you involved. You do not need to know photo transfer as we will take care of that for you.
Present a Quilt
While we would like to personally present each and every Fallen Hero Quilt, it simply isn't logistically feasible or financially practical. That's why we need volunteers throughout the country who possess the talent and the initiative to make the presentation on behalf of the Foundation and the American people. We will supply the text and the quilt and we will work with you and the family to secure a suitable time and location for the presentation. If your interested and have good public speaking skills, contact us to apply.
Gas and Lodging
Traveling to present our quilts to the families takes time and precious resources. For very little expense, an oil company, an airline and an RV manufacturer or a hospitality company could underwrite our travel expenses and gain significant positive exposure here on our website in addition to regular mentions in all our media interviews. Give us a call today and let us know how you can help. 320-310-0117
Sponsorships Tributes A simple and affordable, yet meaningful way for anyone to support the Foundation is to honor one of the families with an embroidered message of tribute added to their quilt. For more information, just click here.
Donations The Patchwork Memorials Fallen Heroes Foundation is a not-for-profit Minnesota corporation. We have been granted tax exempt status by the IRS, under Section 501(c)(3). As a sponsor, your contributions will be used to manufacture quilts for the families who have registered with us. In addition to donating quilts to the Foundation, Patchwork Memorials, our primary sponsor has agreed to produce quilts underwritten by sponsors and the public at their cost. This makes your money go much further. Additionally, we are committed to efficiency so our directors have established a policy that the Foundation will exceed all known charity standards by limiting expenses attributed to administration and fund raising to no more than 5% of total revenues so that fully 95% of available funds will be directed toward program services (making and delivering memorial quilts). This exceeds the standard of 70/30 set by Charities Review Council as well as the 75/25 standard recommended by the American Institute of Philanthropy Checks can be mailed to
The Patchwork Memorials Fallen Heroes Foundation Klamath Falls, OR 97601 (you can make checks payable to "PM Fallen Heroes Foundation")
Annual Matching Grants Our founding sponsor, Patchwork Memorials, through it's commercial site PatchworkMemorials.com has agreed to produce one quilt for the Foundation for every 10 quilts it sells through its dealer network. By agreeing to underwrite one quilt for every quilt donated by Patchwork Memorials, you can double our effectiveness.
Sponsorship Acknowledgements Although giving, especially to help provide comfort and to acknowledge the incredible sacrifice of these families, is certainly its own reward, we will, with their permission list donors of over $100 on our site. It's not much but it's our way of saying "thank you for helping us reach our goals." Additionally, corporations that choose to participate as our "primary sponsor" will have their corporate banner listed on all our web pages (see the space upper left of this page) and will be prominently mentioned during all media interviews. This kind of positive exposure is perfect for the corporation that not only wants to directly acknowledge these patriotic families for their sacrifice and to comfort them in their loss, but also wants to demonstrate their patriotic spirit in a most positive and effective way.
