The Fallen Heroes Quilt
Click here to download a copy of our Construction The Fallen Hero's Quilt is constructed from high quality 100% cotton and deluxe cotton batting. The photo patches are a cotton blend. The quilt measures 56" X 56". For the outer border we will try to use the type of military camouflage fabric that your hero wore. Just let us know which you prefer and if we have it we will do our best to accommodate you. The rest of the fabric is chosen to match with the outer border. If you would prefer we make your quilt using regular fabrics instead of the military theme, just let us know. It will be our privilege to accommodate the request. The quilt consists of 16 photo patches which accommodate 7" X 7" photographs which are printed onto the fabric. This is vastly superior to the typical iron-on photo transfer process you see used on most photo quilts as well as T-shirts. You can size and crop these photos yourself and upload them to us or we will do it for you. Just let us know when we contact you. Additionally, there are 8 patches that feature custom embroidery with content provided by you. These patches make up the middle border of the quilt and are about 4" X 48". The top patch (A) will feature your Fallen Hero's name, town and state and date of birth and death. The bottom patch (B) will contain up to three lines of text you provide, with up to 139 characters of text per line. Use it to say something meaningful about your hero and remember to think about future generations who will learn about this remarkable person through this content. Each side border contains three patches (C) where we will add additional content you provide. Use this space for messages from members of the family or special friends. These can be messages to or about your hero. We put the name of the message giver on the top line and the message in the next line. These lines can be up to 54 characters each. We can add two lines below the name if you want but the font gets smaller as a result. So here, you have a total of 6 patches. The frames below your pictures (D) are where grateful citizens and supporters of the Foundation will embroider their name and add a message of tribute honoring your sacrifice, a reminder of the gratitude of Americans across the country. In the top corners of the middle border, we will embroider the emblem of the branch of service your hero represented. Here is a photo of one of Patchwork Memorials' regular quilts. Below it is a graphic representation of the borders sections using one of the Fallen Heroes fabrics (of course yours will have photos in the center too) We will be posting photos of the Fallen Hero quilts we make and/or of the presentation of the quilts to the families (with the family's permission of course) in a gallery as we make and present them.
Please, let us make you a quilt. It's our way of saying "We honor you for your sacrifice"
